The building work on the new house on the golf course side of the river has now been completed and members can once more gain access to the field through the padlocked gate alongside the bridge.
However, although the owner of the house, John Bastable, has recognised that the Society has a right of access through the field to the golf course, he is concerned about the problems he may have from our members when they are on his property. He considers that the field is his back garden.
Our members must therefore make sure that the gate is closed and the padlock code scrambled before they move off up the field. They must then also take great care to walk as close to the river bank as possible and must not in any circumstances wander any further into the field. No litter must be left and no fires lit.
Remember that you are passing through someones garden.
